Mario Formosa
The story of Mario Formosa is a tale of passion and determination. At just eight years old, Mario shared his father’s dream of working in a family friend’s tailoring shop. It was in that laboratory that young Mario had his first taste of scissors, needle and thimble, marking the beginning of his extraordinary journey.
At the age of twenty, Mario founded his own tailoring business in Via Cavallerizza, in the Chiaia district, where Sartoria Formosa has proudly operated for over 65 years. Mario’s legacy lives on today, as his craftsmanship and dedication continue to inspire generations of Sartoria Formosa craftsmen.
Gennaro Formosa
rom a dream, the true dream of Mario Formosa, founder of Sartoria Formosa, takes shape and becomes reality. Gennaro Formosa, his son, continues this corner of refined craftsmanship. Initially, Mario had not planned for his son to follow in the footsteps of a tailor, considering his profession very demanding. However, Gennaro Formosa graduated in Economics and Business and ventured into other fields until 2004.
Today Sartoria Formosa is renowned among national and international customers, dressing esteemed people such as Rocco Barocco, Fernando Alonso, Jarno Trulli, Flavio Briatore, Luciano Benetton and Anthony Bamford, as well as Prince Daniel Westling of Sweden for his wedding.
